South Tawton in Devon is a large parish on the northern edge of Dartmoor National Park, which includes several villages and hamlets such as South Tawton village and South Zeal. For more information about South Tawton see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Tawton The Mallett family have had a continuous presence in the area for over 300 years.

Church House, a rare survivor from Medieval times where social and fundraising events known as 'Church Ales' were held. These often included the consumption of locally brewed beer hence the name.

Since this photograph was taken the Reverend Thayer has left and the church is currently without a full-time clergyman.
