738 A family history written by a descendant of Mary Thorne (Mallett) Henriod mentions that Helen was in the service of Queen Victoria, and that she was buried at "Royal Palace, London, England".

One wonders if "Crystal Palace", the area of London she was living in in 1901, perhaps became "Royal Palace" in the hands of some overzealous family researcher. There is no evidence available linking her to service to the Royal Family, except for the fact that she lived in Portsea in 1891, very near to the Isle of Wight where Queen Victoria's favourite palace was, and where the good queen is buried. There was a Mallet in service to Queen Victoria; Marie (Adean) Mallet, but she was from a different family.
