    Note
    • He was a Sunday school superintendent, she was a Sunday school teacher. Family rumour has it that he had been jilted and he married Lily on the rebound. He was 28 and she was 21. The family considered that he had married 'beneath' him and cut him off. Since then all contact with the Mallett family ceased.

The Sunday school presented them with a silver teapot for their wedding. (my granny still has this - KS 19/6/00)

Witnesses: C.A. Mallett and Eva Craven
    Note
    • He worked as a collector for the Provident Society, which specialised in 'cheques' for the poor, which were paid on a weekly basis. He carried on this work until his death in April 1921 at 54, from cancer of the bowel and liver. Lily (his wife) carried on his work until she had a stroke at the age of 80 on 1953. She lived another 9 years, dying in Bradford on 1st February 1962 aged 89. She is buried in Undercliffe Cemetery, Bradford.

Walter was living at 62 Whetley Hill, Manningham when he married in 1894.

The Malletts were living at Mount Pleasant, Farsley on 16th June 1909 (from Charles' exemption certificate from the school board).

Was living at 4 The Wharrels, Pudsey when he died.
