There are a great many William Turners in the civil indexes, so without the actual cert one cannot be absolutely certain that this is the correct individual, but:

    1. We know that William died between 1891 and 1901 because he was listed in the 1891 census, but Alice was a widow in 1901,

    2. This event was registered in Croydon where the family was living in 1891 and 1901,

    Notes:

    Note:
This John Mallett is also a Watchmaker and Jeweller. He probably learned the trade from his uncle John back in Barnstaple. The son John is assumed to be part of this family because his age and occupation (also watchmaker) fit. The two Johns are living in separate households in the 1881 census. The photographs of the John Mallett family taken in Jersey are obviously of this family and not the John Mallett who was a clockmaker and jeweller in Bath. One of the photos shows the 3 brothers together and clearly states their names: John, Walter, and Fred.

    Notes:

    Note:
All of the information about this family is taken straight out of the IGI. When I asked for a search of the Devon FHS marriage index for Henry and John, there were several possibilities, so they gave me the ones from North Devon. I recognized Henry and Mary Brimmacombe right away, because they seem to have about 50 children listed in the IGI. Closer scrutiny of these listings indicates they are all from individual submitters, and not systematic extractions. Sometimes there are as many as 4 or 5 submissions for the same child. I make the total kid count to be 11, all in reasonable chronological order, always 2 to 3 years apart. I was skeptical at first, but 2 of the submissions actually mention Humphrey and Catherine as parents of Henry, so they may well be a fit. Most of the submissions have them in Barnstaple, but some say Starcross.

Henry married Mary BRIMACOMBE on 12 May 1818 in Holsworthy, Devon, England. Mary (daughter of John BRIMMACOMBE and Dorothy HOSKINS) was born in 1794 in Holsworthy, Devon, England; died in 1845 in St Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

  2. 13.  Mary BRIMACOMBEMary BRIMACOMBE was born in 1794 in Holsworthy, Devon, England (daughter of John BRIMMACOMBE and Dorothy HOSKINS); died in 1845 in St Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands.
