Hugh of Millbrook (Maker) is connected to the Hugh born in Meavy bcause names dates and places fit, most notably the burial of a Hugh at Iddesleigh in July of 1756, just after Hugh Mallett of Millbrook wrote his will.
William Mallett of Iddesleigh, in his will, talks about his "Uncle Hugh" and his "cousin"(s) Hugh and William as possible successors to the Ash estates, so this links this family back to the Ash Mallets too.
