George emigrated to Canada in 1907. The family has been living living in the same area since then. Burlington/Hamilton, Ontario.
To the best of my knowledge, my g-grandfather George Arthur Mallet never made it
out of Ontario, except for his 'trip' to Europe during the first World War. He made it
back in relatively one piece only to be killed by a car three years later, Dec. 24, 1921.
He left behind two children, my grandmother Lilian Emily and her younger brother
Leslie Arthur.

As an aside, the obituary for Leslie Arthur Mallet d. Feb. 24, 1976, my great uncle,
states at the time of his death, that one of his two sons, David, was living in Calgary.
I have no information on this son or the other, Stephen. Word has it that they both
left home as soon as they could because the situation was not good! My mother only
remembers her cousins from when they were young. I was wondering if you have
any information on Malletts in Alberta that you have not been able to place yet.
David Mallett was in the British Army at the time, stationed at the garrison on Spike
Island in Cork. From roughly 1881, not on the British Census, to probably around
1888. I think it was 7 years at that time. The last child was born in England in 1889.
I have the birth certificates for both George and Louisa. David was a gunner in the
Royal Artillery, and also a boot maker, which is probably how his time was occupied.
As you probably know, shoe maker was the trade of a number of the Malletts in that
line.
