There is however an entry for a Wilfred Vaughan, whose mother's maiden name was Vaughan, that is only 1 year off of the stated birth date (Canterbury 2a, 1240, Mar 1919), so perhaps Wilfred was born to Doris out of wedlock, and adopted later by John.
