Cary Gould found:
Dec 1913, almost a year later, Hammond Mallett is crossing the border in Maine. It shows he is travelling from visiting (?) his brother Ambrose Mallett in PEI. He left Idaho and was returning to Idaho. Alone. 'Border Crossings: From Canada to U.S. 1895-1996'.

Note from Barbara Dorosh, Apr 1999: About the George guy. It was a page from a letter written to my grandfather, William, so it would be in the 20's or earlier 30's........here it is: 'You asked me about our Grandparents. Well Grand-dad Mallett's name was Robert. Grandma Mallett name, Lydia Bryenton. There was four sons, Robert, William,
His first-wife was Elsie Clements - they were married in 1895. Then after his family and wife passed on He lived a Batchelor's life for 15 years, then married Rebecca who was living in Cleveland, Ohio doing nursing."
Census 1881: MALLETT (MALLET) HAMMON 11 BIBLE CHRISTIAN 33

Do not know when he went to Idaho - ran a feed mill there and then retired to B.C. (don't know a date for that either), he was there in the early '30's. Both he & Rebecca are buried at Ocean Park Cemetery (Burnaby BC). She survived him by about 3 months. They made several trips to PEI. I had a 'target date' for their marriage in the 1930's. Mother made a note dated July 1930 ' Uncle Hammond home' no mention of Rebecca,. They were both there in 1938. I was also under the impression that Rebecca was a nurse in the US (somewhere) which fits in with your information.
If on your Bryenton search you come up with a marriage date & place for Rebecca Bryenton & Hammond W. Mallett (Mellett), I would most appreciate it. Rebecca was born at Union Road PEI Aug. 12 1867. Parents were Christmas Bryenton & Anne Seller (she was a sister of Elizabeth, Mrs John Mallett (Mellett). She died at Burnaby B.C. Oct. 29 1953. Rebecca was the second wife of Hammond and they visited PEI in July of 1938 - think that would be during the Nampa Idaho years - but then it might also have been after they moved to B.C. !!! ( I have always been under the impression that the second marriage was later in life - but then he would have been 42 years old when Elsie (wife 1) died - so guess that would be 'later in life'!!!!

Note July 18, 2001 from Irene:
Did find a marriage date & place for Hammond & Beckie from a clipping in the Charlottetown newspaper 'Bryenton, Mellett, - At Nampa, Jan. 18, 1923, Miss Rebecca Bryenton of Cleveland, Ohio, to Mr. H.W. Mellett of Nampa, Idaho. Both parties in this interesting event were born at Union Road in this province and were former neighbours and schoolmates.' Note the spelling - it would have been written by a PEI'er and so the Me spelling was used although apparently he always spelled it MA (the Alberta grave stones would attest to that)
Rebecca had a clergyman brother in Cleveland.
I could not find anything about Lamistin ( or how ever it is spelled) either and the record that I saw had the three children & a nephew. (No Sarah) The nephew was William Ethelbert (Bert) Mallett born PEI 1882 the son of John & Elizabeth Bryenton Mellett (Mallett) of York. I suspect that the census taker got the names mixed and that William was the above mentioned nephew and that the son was Walter Ambrose born 1897 in Alberta. I don't think there were any other children - no indication anywhere of others.
