  Note	Marriage of Unita Maud Choles and Harry Sydney Choles. As you can see the marriage took place in 1941 many years after they had met and all the children were born. Although the marriage certificate states that John Mallett son of John Mallett was the groom, this was in fact a lie. He was without doubt Harry Sydney Mallett son of Willian Chaimberlian Mallett. I have unrefuted proof of this. It would seem that when they were teenagers they ran away together, and that the first child was born in the name of Hamilton, that is the name they were using when they had this first child. I think that they did not want to be found by her parents, that is why they used this name. But although the child Amy Gladys Hamilton is on the birth certificate, she was baptised as a Mallett and she married as a Mallett. Rumour has it (well, it's not a rumour, it came from the lips of Harry Sydney's wife) that she had married beneath herself and her parents cut her off and I think his parents must have cut Harry off as well, that is why he said his name was John Mallett. But I can never understand as to why after all the many years later when they finally did marry that he put his father's name down as John, when he must have known that it was William. And that his father would have been deceased by now as he was born about 1847. The marriage certificate that I had a copy of from the register office states that her father's name was Albert Neale Choles, but on the original which turned up at another relative's home it said her father was Albert Neale, when I telephoned the Register office I was told that there must have been a mistake made and that it was noticed afterwards that is why I have Albert Neale Choles on my copy, but I am not so sure about that as I have thus far been unable to findher birth or indeed a person with the name Albert Neale Choles anywhere on any census. What I have been able to find is a man called Harry Choles who was born in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, living in London where she was supposed to have been born. I have never been able to find a Unita Maud Choles either, which was supposed to be her name although she was always called Maud, so I think that she is the daughter of Harry Choles who incidentally was baptised as Henry and later had an Oscar for his middle name but died as one Henry Oscar Choles but I now have to prove this and after eight years of trying I ave not been able to achieve this. There were more children born to the happy couple but I have not yet found these there were about 13 in all but a lot of them died in infancy or later as young adults mostly with tuberculosis.
