    • As per article in the Virden Empire-Advance Sept 25, 1991 Obituary, Ina Verona Mallett - Ina Verona Mallett passed away on September 15, 1991 in Virden District Hospital. She was 91 years of age.

      Born August 19, 1900 near Moosomin in what was then the North-west Territories, Ina Wood married Henry Mallett on February 4, 1925. The Malletts lived at McAuley until 1976 when they moved to The Sherwood in Virden. Mrs. Mallett resided there until the time of her death.

      Mrs. Mallett was a member of the Anglican Church in McAuley until its closure in the 1930s, and then the Rutherglen United Church, McAuley. During her active life, she held all the offices in the Rebekah Lodge, was secretary of the I.O.D.E., president and secretary of the Anglican Women's Auxiliary, secretary and treasurer of the Women's Missionary Society, and secretary ofthe Women's Institute.

      Predeceased by her husband Henry in 1984, Mrs. Mallett leaves to mourn her passing her son and daughters as well as nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

      The funeral service was held on September 18, 1991 at Rutherglan United Church, McAuley.
