All of Digory's children except for Ann, Richard, and Edwin were living here, in their mother Maria and step-father Richard Pearse's house. Digory's death was recorded in 1826, and his wife Maria obviously remarried in 1828. Ann was already married at this time, so living on her own (one assumes) somewhere else. Edwin's whereabouts are a mystery, but there was an Edwin Henry Mallett who died in Falmouth in 1839 that might be him. There aren't many Edwins. There was a Richard Mallett who died in St Austell in 1836.

    • It was obviously Digory Mallett's widow Maria who married Richard Pearse. The marriage took place in St Columb Major where Digory was buried, just about 2 years after his death, and in the 1841 census all of Digory and Maria's children, except Ann (already married) and Edwin (dead) were living with Richard and Maria Pearse in St Austell.
