[2] - Lillian has not been found in any primary source. She has been attached to the family of Wesley Mallett because of the following statement, made by a daughter of Carolyn Mae Sylvester/Jordan/Wakefield:
"I remember Mom's cousin Lillian Mallett coming out west to live with us when she was fifteen (from Nebraska, where she was left with no mother) "
It is assumed that she was part of Wesley's family because she was from Nebraska. If she was "Mom's (first) cousin", then she would have been Wesley's daughter, but there is no evidence of this. She does not show up in any census from 1900 forward in Wesley's household. We don't know the date at which she came to live with the Olivers, but we assume it must have been between 1918 and 1930 to be within a timeframe in which the source of the quote still lived at home and would have been old enough to have a clear recollection of the event.
She might have been a daughter of either Corlis or Beryl, but both of them and their wives were still alive in 1930, each with a family, but no Lillian.
The best bet seems to be that she was a daughter of Mabel, and that her surname was Adams, not Mallett. Her birth date has been pegged at 1905, since it is further assumed that Mabel had died before 1920, explaining why the 2 children were living with Wesley in that year, and that Lillian had perhaps gone to live with the Oliver family prior to 1920, and since she was 15 at that time, she would have been older than the other 2. There was no Lillian Mallett or Adams living with the Oliver family in 1920.
