- His name was recorded as "Thomas Jun."., because there was an older Thomas who was recorded as "Thomas Sen." This might indicate a father son relationship, but doesn't necessarily. The only two Thomases that have been found that fit the bill were those born in Bodmin and St Erth respectively. As currently recorded this was an uncle/nephew relationship. There was also a Roger Mallett recorded in Liskeard in 1641, who was likely the brother of Thomas Jr., both born in St Erth.
This is the only Thomas of record who fits the bill as Thomas Jun. and could have been in Liskeard at this time.
It must be remembered that there appears to be close to a 100 year gap in the Liskeard parish records, at least as far as Mallett baptisms are concerned. The earliest recorded baptism that we have for Liskeard is 1731.
