- This family is taken straight out of the IGI. I have spelled the name with one T as it is in the IGI. This family was chosen because they had a Henry born at about the right time as the Henry in my story, and the location is right, Shebbear being very close to Sheepwash. This Henry was mentioned in Lady Mallet's notes which I saw at Mallet Court, along with the Francis Mallet family, also of Shebbear. Alongside Francis she has noted "vide Ash" which I assume means he was from Ash, and therefore connected to THE Mallets. There is no such notation for Henry. I went to Shebbear, but found no trace of Mallet in the graveyard, but then there are virtually no tombstones that old.
