  He went west in 1901 or thereabouts. First to Star, Alberta, and later to Edmonton. He had his sights set on missionary work, but his mother forbade it because of the deaths of his two older sisters both engaged in missionary work in China. Henry Mallett's farm was also at Star. Neither one of them show up in the 1901 census in Star, so perhaps they both came together in 1901, after the census. The PO of Star at the time was Edna. Perhaps was the census location. Henry was apparently quite a prominent person in Edmonton. When he died (quite unexpectedly at 47), the main street in Edmonton was closed down for the funeral cortege. He had a big house in Edmonton, and as more and more relatives were encouraged to come west, they would stay at his house until they got settled.
