In 1891 John Bidewell and his family lived at 93 Damgate, a property beyond the bridge over the River Tiffey, where Fred could have been born. John Bidewell was at 72 Damgate, a property now demolished, in 1881.
The marriage to Rose was in the Register Office in Wandsworth. One witness was 'A H Cox', which could be either Alfred H or Amelia Helena, both of whom were Rose's siblings. The other witness was Frank Taylor, the husband of Alice, Fred's elder sister.
Rose was living at 15 Upper Richmond Road, Putney and Fred at 'The Garage', 5 Chartfield Avanue, Putney at the time of their marriage. When mum was born in January 1921 only 5 weeks after the marriage Rose's address was given as 324 Upper Richmond Road, Putney. Where Fred was at that time is anyone's guess.
However by February 1923 when Rosemary was born the Bidewells were living at 11 Nottingham Road, Wandsworth. Why she was born in Marylebone is a mystery. Dora (Biddy) was born at Nottingham Road in 1924.
