    • Some confusion over the baptism date for Mary. The Parish records show 1733, while the Bishops Transcripts have a baptism of Mary Evans dated 23 April 1738. This could be a simple misreading of poorly microfilmed copies. The marriage licence for her first marriage to James Bassill states that she was 18 year of age in 1757, yielding a birth year of 1739. Had she been born in 1733 she would have been 24 at date of marriage making the expense and trouble of obtaining a licence redundant.
