    • It isn't certain that this "CS" is our Charles Stanley, or if he was actually emigrating at this point. We do know that he married in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada sometime around 1898, and that his son was born that year, so this could be when he came to North America the first time. The ship was the Eritruria, sailing from Liverpool to New York.

    • The name "CS Mallett" is found on a ship's manifest travelling from Liverpool to Quebec. It seems very likely that this CS Mallett is our Charles Stanley. It fits with the family's history, and he was travelling with his wife and a boy between the ages of 1 and 12, consistent with what we know about the family to this date. There are no names provided in the manifest for the wife and boy.
